For our final blog post of Q2 we turn to meme's. Meme's are a cultural phenomenon that evolved with the ability to add text to images and distribute them online... For this post I want you to put your creativity/humor/culture hat on and design your own meme. Your subject can be about anything but try to connect your meme to a subject your studying. For example here's a school/history meme idea... Most important, you must respect the guidelines for blogging that we setup in the beginning of the year. NO DEGRADING CONTENT. You may not make fun of, mock or slur anyone Create your meme using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation Never reveal personal information about yourself Never disrespect someone. Privacy and your Christmas Gifts?

Why does privacy matter? We've been discussing the implications of privacy and it's impact on our daily lives. We discussed what's currently going on in China with their development of a citizen rating system. Seems incredibly extreme, but the prevailing thinking among us is that it won't happen here. Or will it. By default many of the products we use today are listening to us. Whether it's through our devices's camera, microphone or by location (GPS tracking). All this data is being used by companies and we have almost no control over it. So before we make our loved one's lives more complicated this Christmas let's do a little research and show that we care about their privacy. Follow this link and take a look at the products listed: https://foundation.mozilla.org/en/privacynotincluded/ For this post I want you to research  two products that you either currently have or were thinking of giving someone else for Christmas and click on it and revea...

Dig a little deeper and we find that there are levels to the internet. Surface web  is anything that can be indexed by a typical search engine such as Google. Which according to some experts is around 4% of the actual Internet.  https://techlog360.com/darknet-vs-dark-web-vs-deep-web-vs-surface-web/ The Deep web  refers to data that is stored in website databases. Content that is not available by clicking on a link. Information you can find by searching through a website, such as a Government database or library. This is estimated to be 400-500 times the size of the Surface web.  http://bigdata2.brightplanet.com/your-guide-to-the-deep-web The Dark web  or dark net is designed specifically for annonymity and can only be access through private networks such as the  Tor browser .
